Kupwara: Deputy
Commissioner, Kupwara, Ansul Garg today convened a meeting of all concerned
officers to discuss the arrangements being put in place to observe ‘Kissan
Pakhwada’ from July 7 to July 21, this year.
It was given out in the
meeting that the objective of ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ is to increase flow of advances
in the agriculture sector and double the income of farmers by way of their
involvement in agricultural related welfare schemes like KCC, PM-KISAN, RKVY
and other schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner
stressed upon all stakeholders to play a proactive role for making Kissan
Pakhwada a successful mission in the district and ensure cent percent coverage
of farmers including that belonging to Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries
sectors under the purview of centrally sponsored PM Kissan and KCC schemes.
He also asked for launching of
massive awareness regarding the Pakhwada and the schemes including new
technologies of cultivation besides removing the bottlenecks in obtaining loans
against KCC from different financial institutions.
The Deputy Commissioner asked
Additional Deputy Commissioners and Sub Divisional Magistrates of the district
to hold separate meetings in their areas to sensitise all field functionaries
and PRIs and ensure that all farmers are covered during the Kissan Pakhwada.
Lead Bank manager Kupwara was
directed to ensure that all bank branches of the district have proper
hoardings, literatures regarding various schemes available and ensure that
branches are disposing favourably loan applications available within a
stipulated time frame so that a substantial credit is approved and disbursed
before or during Kissan Pakhwada.
The DC urged upon all the
stakeholders to follow guidelines and SOPs related to COVID-19 while carrying
out activities related to the campaign.
Among others the meeting was
attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Additional Deputy
Commissioner, Handwara, ACR, JD Planing, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief
Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries, Lead Bank manager DIO and other concerned
officers.
