Jammu:
Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez Rohella today
paid a visit to the Government Degree College Paloura (Mishriwala) to
review progress of the infrastructure projects including eight
classrooms, four labs and a Girls Hostel,being executed in the College campus
by the R&B Deptt. and JK Housing Board under the Languishing Project
Scheme.
He also interacted with the
officials of R&B and JK Housing Board and enquired about the ongoing
projects. He directed them for early completion of the ongoing projects so that
infrastructure becomes functional for the use of students as soon as possible.
He also interacted with the
staff members and encouraged them to
make GDC Paloura excel academically and in extracurricular
activates.
Earlier, College Principal,
Prof. Rita Bhagat, after formal welcome, briefed the Commissioner about student
enrolment, staff strength and subjects taught in the college. She discussed
institutional plan for development of the college and facilities to be provided
to the students in future. She informed that the students of the college are
excelling in sports and competing at Inter-collegiate and University Level.

Finance, accompanied Commissioner Secretary on the occasion.
