il Bechara, set in Jamshedpur,
India is the adaptation of John Green's 2012 novel 'The Fault in Our Stars'.
The story starts with Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi), a college-going girl who is
suffering through Thyroid cancer, and like every other girl she wants a normal
life.
Kizie who has solid support
from her parents suddenly meets her angel Imanuel Rajkumar Junior also popular
as Manny played by the brilliant Sushant Singh Rajput. Manny has its own story
as he has survived osteosarcoma and his cancer is currently in remission and he
teaches Kizie the value of smile and love in our lives.
Both Manny and Kizzie fall in
love as Manny, the charming and lively boy has his own Bollywood style to steal
her heart. Be it Manny's dance performance or the dialogues he utters every
time he talks, he makes sure that Kizzie explores every side of him.
Manny decides to go to Paris
to fulfil Kizzie's wish of meeting her favourite musician Abhimanyu Vaid (Saif
Ali Khan) and both roam around the beautiful city making us all fall in love
with this adorable duo. Shot in the lanes of Jamshedpur, the story of Dil
Bechara is about how they both fall in love with each other and stay together
in every storm that comes their way.
Directed by Mukesh Chhabra,
the film has amazing shots that will make you go wow, starting from Sushant's
grand entry in the film to the pleasing sights of Paris, the film has a lot to
offer and Sushant's fans are surely going to shed lots of tears at so many
points.
Sushant's character as Manny
is absolutely heart-touching as his role is the blood and bone of the film. The
way he expresses himself, the way he uses those typical Bollywood dialogues, we
can't forget his last remarkable performance.
Sanjana Sanghi as Kizzie has
played her role very confidently, making a cute couple with Manny. The romantic
chemistry of Manny and Kizzie gives pleasure to the eyes as Sushant knows how
to steal every scene he is in and Sanjana compliments his counterpart every
time making us go 'awwwww'.
Saif Ali Khan has also done
justice to his cameo role as the macho outside but broken inside musician
Abhimanyu Vaid and adds a good dose of laughter in the film. Music by A R
Rahman is as always commendable as the songs enhance the feel of the story and
emotions making you connect to the characters and be a part of their
extraordinary journey.
Overall, Dil Bechara is an
emotional roller coaster ride featuring Sushant Singh Rajput's last
heart-melting on-screen performance. It would be unfair to judge this movie as
it is a more of tribute to his career and everyone would be watching this movie
irrespective of the ratings and reviews. And SantaBanta.com would not like to
come between Sushant Singh Rajput and the love of his fans. So go and watch
this family movie which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
