Jammu: Divisional
Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners to
review the progress on land issues for newly sanctioned colleges in the
districts of the Jammu division.
The meeting was attended by
Director Health Services, Dr Renu Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu,
Vijay Sharma; Nodal Officer Director Colleges, Dr Ranvender Tickoo and other
concerned officers while the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with
other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Divisional Commissioner
sought case wise details of land acquisition for newly sanctioned colleges and
the Deputy Commissioners apprised him about the
present status.
It was informed that most of
the land issues have been resolved in all the districts, while pending cases
are also under process and at different stages of acquisition. It was also
informed that land for the majority of the colleges has already been handed
over to the concerned authorities for execution of works on the campus
buildings in the districts.
The Divisional Commissioner
asked the DCs to expedite the process and resolve all the pending cases on
priority and hand over the land to concerned departments for execution of
college buildings.
Meanwhile, the Divisional
Commissioner sought the details of sampling capacity for Covid-19 tests in the
districts. The DCs informed about the daily sampling capacity in their
respective districts.
The Div Com asked the DCs to
scale up the sampling capacity and conduct sampling of shopkeepers, fruit
vendors, vegetable vendors, truckers and other vulnerable groups to contain the
spread of Covid-19.
