Jammu: Divisional
Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed the progress made in the
establishment of Centers for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training
(CIIIT) in Government Polytechnic Jammu, here at a meeting of concerned
officers.
The Principal Government
Polytechnic gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the works taken up at
the campus for setting up of 9 competency centers to conduct 18 courses for
M.tech/ B. Tech/ Diploma and ITI students. The project duration is 3 years and
all the installations are to be completed by Tata Technology within 6 months.
It was informed that the
inspections were conducted of proposed buildings for CIIIT at Polytechnic Jammu
by concerned officers. Tata Technology has submitted its proposed layout and
structural changes and electrical layout required in buildings. It was also
informed that the renovation works are in progress and 45 percent have been completed in building 19 so far
and 70 percent machinery/ equipment has also been received.
The Divisional Commissioner
asked the concerned officers to expedite the work and set timelines for
completion of CIIIT. He also instructed them to float tenders for remaining
works for timely completion.
The meeting was also attended
by Project Coordinator and concerned engineers.
Meanwhile, the Divisional
Commissioner reviewed the progress on expansion of Jammu Airport. The concerned
officers apprised him that the works are in progress on various components. It
was informed that work on Landoi Choi has been completed. The Div Com directed
the concerned officers to maintain close inter department coordination and
expedite the remaining works.
Earlier, in another meeting
the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress on identification of projects
at Ramban and Reasi districts funded through Corporate Social
Responsibility(CSR) of Northern Railways.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi and
Ramban informed about the identified projects of their respective districts.
The DC Reasi informed that
four sectors - Horticulture, Agriculture, Sports and Education have been
identified in the district for development.
The DC Ramban apprised the
Divisional Commissioner that there is requirement of water supply schemes for
hilly areas and school buildings to be developed through CSR initiatives.
The meeting was attended by
Chief Engineer USBRL, Chief Engineer, Coordination, CGM and other concerned
officers while Deputy Commissioner Reasi and Ramban attended the meeting
through video conferencing.
