Samba: District
Administration Samba today carried out an Anti Encroachment Drive at Arazi,
Samba block and retrieved 510 Kanal encroached prime land.
During the Anti-Encroachment
Drive, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, personally oversaw the demolition operation and ensured fencing and
demarcation of State land.
In the Anti Encroachment Drive, two JCB
machines were pressed into the action and multiple concrete structures
including khulas, boundary walls, sheds, pavements were demolished.
It was informed that the State
land bearing khasra no. 44, measuring 510 Kanal, in the heart of the Samba town
(Arazi, Samba) was encroached upon by the land grabbers. In addition to raising
concrete structures on the state land, the land grabbers were also cultivating
seasonal crops through daily labourers. The stamp duty of the said land is
assessed to be Rs 7.50 lacs per kanal.
After the anti-encroachment
drive, the entire state land on was
demarcated and a sign board of ‘State Land’ was also installed at the site.
