and ammunition, cash recovered
Police along with security forces have busted a terror module of proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr by arresting 04 hybrid terrorists and 03 terror associates. Incriminating materials, huge cache of arms & ammunition and cash recovered from their possession.
Based on specific inputs that proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr is planning to carry out attacks on Police/SF at several places in Sopore, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police along with 32RR & 92Bn CRPF in Rawoocha Rafiabad. During the search operation, the joint team arrested 03 hybrid terrorists linked with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr. They have been identified as Waris Tantry son of Abdul Lateef Tantray resident of Rawoocha Rafiabad, Amir Sultan Wani son of Mohammad Sultan Wani resident of Nowpora Sopore and Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Sonaullah Bhat resident of Chontipora Handwara.
During preliminary questioning the arrested trio confessed that they are in close contact with the terror handlers of proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr from last two years. They further disclosed that Pak based terror handlers namely Yousuf Balousi R/o Pakistan and Khursheed R/o Anantnag A/P Pakistan directed them to revive the terror folds in Rafiabad Sopore by recruiting youth into terror folds of Al-Badr outfit, providing logistic support to active terrorists, procurement/arranging weapons for new recruits etc.
Moreover, on their disclosure another hybrid terrorist identified as Ashraf Nazir Bhat son of Late Nazir Ahmed resident of Arin Bandipora was arrested in a joint operation by Sopore Police and 21 RR. Besides, 03 terror associates identified as Mohd Ashraf Malik son of Mohd Akbar resident of Drungsoo, Mohd Afzal Thokar son of Abdul Aziz resident of Kalamabad Mawar Handwara and Shabir Ahmed Shah son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Sherhama Mawar Handwara were also arrested.
Incriminating materials, war like stores including huge cache of arms & ammunition and huge amount of cash meant for carrying out terror activities were also recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 14/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
