Kolkata: Leaving ample
indication of deteriorating law and order situation daysafter Rampurhat burning
and mass murder case that left 9 people dead, different districts of Bengal has
witnessed two rapes of minor girlsin two consecutive days.
While the first incident took
place on Sunday in Basirhat sub-divisionof North 24 Parganas where an
11-year-old girl was gang-raped by aseveral persons in the second incident a
16-year-old victim atChandipur in English Bazar Police Station of Malda
district was rapedby an alleged local Trinamool Congress leader on Monday. The
brothers of accused in Malda work with the State policedepartment and allegedly
helped him flee spot, sources said.
The condition of the first victim is quite serious and she has been rushed to Kolkata.
