29 Kilograms Poppy Straw recovered |
Ramban : In furtherance to tightening the noose on Narcotics Smugglers under “Operation Sanjeevani”, Ramban police foiled a narcotic smuggling bid at Navyuga Tunnel, Banihal. On April 12, 2022, during routine checking by Naka Party of Police Post Jawahar Tunnel at Navyuga Tunnel intercepted one Truck bearing Registration No RJ19G-7867 driven by Sushil Kumar S/o Satish Kumar R/o Makhu, Tehsil Zira District Ferozpur, Punjab along-with owner cum helper namely Ranjit Kumar S/o Raj Kumar R/o Makhu, Tehsil Zira District Ferozpur, Punjab for checking, which was on its way from Srinagar towards Jammu. During checking, 29 Kilograms Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from the Cavity into the fuel tank of the said truck. In this connection, FIR No 80/2022 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Banihal and investigation set into motion.
The overall recovery and arrest was made by the police team under the supervision of *PSI Harish Kumar, I/C PO Jawahar Tunnel, Insp Nayeem-ul-Haq SHO Banihal, Sh Nissar Ahmed Khoja (KPS) SDPO Banihal and under the overall Supervision of Ms Mohita Sharma IPS, SP Ramban.*
