Doda: Doda Police has continued special drive against drug peddlers under operation Sanjeevani to tighten the noose of drug peddlers and so far a number of FIRs have been registered and notorious drug peddlers have been booked under NDPS Act in the District.
In a statement issued today Police said that today on 5th of May-2022, it was learnt through reliable sources that one person namely Afrim Ahmed S/O Farooq Ahmed R/O Shamdelian Kahara A/P Malipeth Kishtwar was carrying Charas with him for selling purpose and was on way towards Kishtwar from Kahara.
Acting swiftly on this information a Police Party of Police Station Gandoh led by Insp. Vikram Singh SHO P/S Gandoh assisted by PSI Rohit Sharma IC PP Kahara swung into action, apprehended the said individual near Kahara-Jai Bridge who was coming in vehicle (load carrier) bearing registration No. JK17- 3497, being driven himself. During search 01 Kg & 120 gms of Charas like substance was recovered in the presence of Executive Magistrate from his possession which he had concealed in the vehicle behind the driving seat.
In this connection case FIR No. 27/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and the aforesaid vehicle involved in the smuggling has also been seized. The forward/backward links of the accused person are being ascertained during investigation to unearth the source of supplier and network of drug peddling.
The recovery and arrest of accused was made by the Police party under the supervision of Sh. Shahzada Kabir Matoo SDPO Gandoh and overall supervision of Sh. Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda.
