Nine pilots suspended by DGCA

 


New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended nine pilots and 32 cabin crew for failing the pre-flight breath analyser (BA) test.

While two pilots and two cabin crew have been suspended for a period of three years for the second time in four months, as many as 37 other pilots and cabin crew have been suspended for a period of three months for testing BA positive for the first time.

The DGCA said during the period of four months commencing from 1st Jan 2022, it carried out 48 enforcement actions for the violations of the various requirements of the regulation regarding testing of crew for the consumption of alcohol.

During this period nine pilots and 32 cabin crew were found breath analyser test positive, it said adding other enforcement actions were related to missing BA test or not furnishing the declaration. (Agencies)
