UP officials asked to take action on GoM reports

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials concerned to take appropriate action on the report of the Groups of Ministers (GoM) who have returned from their divisional tours.

“The report of the GoM should be given to nodal officers of the respective districts so that the development works can be accelerated according to the needs of people and in the areas where the ministers have suggested improvement,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Tuesday.

Stressing on the need to continue with the divisional/district tour programme of the GoM, the chief minister has also given instructions to the officials to be sensitive to the problems of the common man and resolve them at the earliest.

After the cabinet meeting held at Lok Bhavan under the chairmanship of the chief minister, the presidents of all the 18 ministerial groups gave him information about the district-wise status of the divisions under their charge one by one.

It was said that the updated status of development projects was reviewed by holding a divisional review meeting during the group visit. Instructions were given to the officers for quality work while maintaining the timeline of the projects.

At the same time, after getting the details of women’s safety matters, prosecution status in SC/ST cases, police patrolling, child sex offences, problems of businessmen, and action against gangsters, the chief minister issued necessary instructions for better law and order with zero tolerance policy. The GoM also shared with the CM the experiences of ‘Jan Chaupal’ and ‘Sahabhoj’ during their visit.

According to most of the ministers, there is a positive atmosphere among people on the subject of women’s safety, better health facilities and distribution of free ration to the eligible people without discrimination.

The ministers suggested that there is a need to make the system of public grievance redressal better. The ministers also thanked the chief minister and said forming the GoM was an innovative move.

In the cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also shared the experiences of ‘Swasthya Chintan Shivir’, the 14th conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) held at Kevadiya, Gujarat, from May 5 to 7. He said that a presentation was made on the UP model of communicable diseases including eradication of encephalitis and eradication of Kala-azar, apart from the ongoing efforts to improve the health infrastructure, including one district-one medical college in the state.
