SAMBA: Organised by Volleyball Association of District Samba, 35th District (men and women) Championship got underway at Abhyaas Volleyball Academy Tarlokpur, near canal (Jakh), here today.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, DySP Rohit Gupta in the presence of guests of honour, SHO Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak, Dr Arti Mohan and Dr Swaroop Sharma. Among others present were Nisha Rani, Sheetal Bogal, Rakesh Kumar, president district volleyball Association Samba; Ramesh Kumar Sharma (Sarpanch), secretary district volleyball Association Samba, BS Jamwal and joint secretary Satpal Sharma, Mentor (Khelo India) and Shivani Bhau.
In total, teams are participating this event, including four in women section.
The Results: MEN: Barhani youth club beat Patti A Club 25-15, 25-18; Barjani beat Barikhad 2-1 (18-25, 25-17, 15-9); Swankha beat Friends Club Ramgarh 2-1 (22-25, 25-17, 15-11); Rajneesh beat Patti B Club 25-15, 25-17; Abhyaas Club beat Shri Ram Club 25-19, 25-12; Raya beat Radha Krishna 25-21, 25-20; JBC Dugh beat Sanyog 25-17, 25-16; Jakh beat Dahmore 25-16, 25-13.
WOMEN: Trikuta Club beat Gho - Brahmana 25-13, 25-17; Abhyaas beat Samba Warriors 25-19, 25-13.
The technical penal in today’s matches included Satpal, Rohini Devi, Aman, Shivali, Neeraj, Panku, Ayisha Tabssum, Ishima Verma, Lavanya Mahajan, Nazish.
