SRINAGAR: Warpora Volleyball Club clinched the District Budgam Junior Volleyball Championship which was organised by District Budgam Volleyball Association under the banner of Volleyball Association of J&K in collaboration with Kashmir Elite Industries at Indoor Complex, here.
In the final, Warpora Club defeated Chattergam Volleyball Club 2-1 (25-12, 12-25, 15-08). Earlier, in the first semifinal, Warpora Club outplayed Kashmir Elite Junior Club 2-1 (25-18, 22-25, 15-11) while Chattergam Club trounced Paller VB Club 2-0 (25-19, 25-23).
In total, 18 teams, including two in girls section, took part in this championship, a handout issued by the Association here today claimed.
Special guests, Arshid Ahmad, president of Budgam Volleyball Association and prominent citizen Nabi Ganie felicitated the winners and runners-up with title trophies.
Arshid Ahmad Wani, speaking on the occasion, urged upon the participants to contribute their might for making the Nation healthy and stronger by staying way from drug menace.
