New Delhi: KK Sharma, Chairman of AIMIL Pharma, one of the leading Ayurvedic companies in India, along with seven other prominent personalities from various walks of life such as medical, judicial, civil society and civil services have been nominated as members of prestigious Shree Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Chairman of Shrine Board, recently issued a notification for re-constitution of the board, nominating eight members for three years.
The other members of the Board are Mahamandleshwar Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj of Mumbai, Dr Neelam Sareen, Dr Ashok Bhan, Suresh Kumar Sharma, Raghu K Mehta, all from Jammu and Baleshwar Rai from Gurugram in Haryana and Delhi-based Kul Bushan Ahuja.
"We will initiate steps to make Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage more hassle-free to ensure satisfaction of the devotees over the board arrangements," Sharma said after being re-nominated for the member' post. Sharma said he will specially emphasise on the construction of ropeway from Katra to Ardhquari and from Ardhquari to Bhawan and alternate routes for the pilgrims. “A large number of pilgrims take the yatra to Maa Vaishno Devi and on the lines of safe crowd management being adopted in Tirupati Balaji Temple where devotees are asked to wait at waiting halls at various places in case of heavy rush, can be implemented in Vaishno Devi temple.
