Srinagar: Three female athletes from J&K secured bronze medals in the Khelo India Women’s Wushu League – North Zone held from 27th – 30th December at Dehradun, Uttrakhand.
As per News Agency Current News of India (CNI) that the athletes who achieved the feat by their remarkable performances in the Khelo India Women’s Wushu League – North Zone include international Good Medalist Sadia Tariq, Sana Bashir and Jiya Manhas.
An official from the J&K sports body said that a number of players from different states participated in which the female athletes from the J&K UT proved their mettle with a stellar show.
“We want to extend our gratitude towards Kuldeep Handoo, the Chief Coach of the Wushu team, for his incredible hard work and dedication. It’s because of his efforts and guidance that players are able to achieve the victory. His coaching has made a huge impact on the team’s success,” the official said.
Sadia Tariq International Gold Medalist Bagged Bronze Medal in Khelo India Women’s Wushu League which was held in Dehradun , Uttarakhand from 27th Of December To 30th of December also Sana Bashir from Srinagar and Jiya Manhas from jammu bagged Bronze medal.
Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull has been working relentlessly for the revival of sports in J&K, the official said, adding that the recent results are due to her dedication and hardwork of youth.
“Khelo India is an incredible initiative by the Government of India to promote sports and encourage young athletes. The Khelo India Women’s Wushu League is a fantastic platform for female wushu athletes to showcase their skills and compete at a national level.
