JAMMU: Ace sport climber of J&K, Shivani Charak added two more medals to her kitty to make it three in the 4th Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship, organised by Tata Steel Adventure Foundation at TSAF Sport Climbing Training Centre, Bistupur in Jamshedpur.
After winning gold in Lead and Bouldering (combined) on the opening day, Shivani clinched Silver in Speed Climbing and a Bronze in Speed Relay on the last day of the event. She was honoured with a total cash prize of Rs.33000 for the three medals, reports reaching here informed.
Meanwhile, members of the Mountaineering Association of J&K (MAJK) led by Zorawar Singh Jamwal, president; Ram Khajuria, senior vice president; Shawetica Khajuria, general secretary and Rahul Sharma, chairman of Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Jammu congratulated Shivani for the splendid feat in the National event, the biggest Sport Climbing competition in India which carried a total prize money to the tune of Rs.6.50 lakh.
“Now, Shivani Charak, a Cancer Survivor who is the top ranked sport climber of India shall proceed to Pune where she has been invited as a guest of honour for UMEED Cancer Support Forum Marathon-‘Umeed KiRun’, to be held at Pune on February four, on the occasion of World Cancer Day,” disclosed Ram Khajuria.
