JAMMU: Varun Sharma of University of Jammu clinched Silver medal in the just held North and East Zone Inter-University Judo Tournament under the banner of Association of Indian Universities (AIUs) at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Subsequently, considering his performance, Varun has been selected for the All India Inter-University competition. A student of Government Degree College (GDC) Marh, an affiliated institution of JU, Varun won the medal in below 81 kg weight category.
Before leaving for the event, Varun and other selected Judokas of JU attended a coaching camp which held under the guidance of Judo coach of SMVDSB Sports Complex, Katra, Danish Sharma. Important to mention here that Danish was deputed with the team as coach by the Department of Sports, JU.
