Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association today unanimously re-elected Mr. Anil Gupta as President for the third consecutive term. In the Annual General Meeting held in Jammu all the representatives from the different districts of Jammu & Kashmir (UT) were present in the AGM where the election body announced by Returning Officer Advocate Mrs.Anshuja Tak, who was appointed as Returning Officer of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association by Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council to conduct the elections. The names of the elected office bearers announced by Returning Officer who were elected unanimously for the period 2024 to 2028 are Mr.Anil Gupta President, the President will have one Senior Vice-President Mohd. Sayed Baba, two Vice-Presidents Arun Gupta and Ghulam Mohammed Ganaie, while Kuldeep Kumar Gupta will take up the responsibility of General Secretary, two Joint Secretaries Gulzar Ahmad Ahanger and Abdul Rahman Padder, Treasurer Anil Modi and three Executive members of the Committee Tanveer Ahmed, Fazal Hussain and Radha Bakshi.
Addressing the gathering, Anil Gupta thanked all the members present on the occasion for expressing their full faith in his abilities. Gupta said main motive of association will be Promotion of Indigenous game of Kabaddi at J&K/UT level followed by more and more tournaments of Kabaddi resulting into the selections of J&K Kabaddi Players in the auction of Pro Kabaddi League, Yuva Kabaddi League at National and International level.
Anil Gupta President of the association appreciated the successful completion of the tenure of outgoing office bearers for their dedicated contribution towards Kabaddi game. Further Gupta honored the outgoing General Secretary Surinder Mohan and treasurer Sangram Singh with a Momento & a Shawl as token of love.
The responsibility of General Secretary is put on the shoulders of Kuldeep Kumar Gupta who was recently appointed as Technical Delegate in 19th Asian Games held at Hangzhou China in the year 2023. Kuldeep Gupta assured that he will not leave any stone unturned to achieve the goal and shall always strive to bring forward and support the talented players of this game. While lauding the services of outgoing office bearers which were highly commendable, specially the service of Surinder Mohan Gupta (General Secretary) are praise worthy. Further Kuldeep Kumar Gupta also told that the Referee’s Examination will be conducted in all the district level as well as State/UT level so that the qualified referee’s will also be eligible to appear in All India Examination conducted by Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India. The services of district level examination will be started after the end of present financial year i.e. April onwards.
In the end, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta thanked the Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gull, Returning Officer Advocate Anshuja Tak and District Secretaries as well as district Presidents alongwith other valuable members present in the meeting for their kind cooperation and support.
Kuldeep Kumar Gupta also sought the cooperation and support of all the newely elected members to take the oath to take the “Swadeshi Game-KABADDI” in J&K/UT to new heights. Moreover he has strong belief that the coaches will play their good role to teach the latest Techniques/Skills to the younger talent of the UT and have also been appreciated for their contribution.
The President & General Secretary will also nominated Chief Patron, Patrons the Chairman of different committee alongwith their convener and Chairman, Associate Vice-Presidents, Associate Secretaries, Associate Press Secretary, Associate Residency Secretaries and Associate Executive Members, Selection Committees for National in boys and girls section in Senior, Junior and Sub-junior for beach and circle style categories including Yuva Kabaddi.
It was also decided that an eminent personality who is lover and promoter of kabaddi game be nominated as Chairman who must be citizen of India and may attend the General Council/Meeting of AKFI subject to authority letter signed by President and General Secretary of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association.
All the unanimously elected members have assured to dedicate theirs services far the promotion of our undiginious game kabaddi in the UT of J&K and to help and motivate players to enhance their performances and to keep themselves away from drugs.
