Jammu: In a bid to foster a healthier and drug-free community, the Late Ishar Singh’s family, alongside dedicated members Gurbaksh Singh, Manpreet Singh and Surinder Malhotra, organized the Late Hav Ishar Singh Memorial Volleyball Tournament in the picturesque Village Nardi Bala of Tehsil Maira Mandrian, Akhnoor.
The tournament kicked off with an exciting first match between Tacharwan and Mandrian, with Tacharwan emerging victorious in both sets, clinching the wins with scores of 20-15 and 21-19.
The week-long tournament aimed at not only to celebrate the memory of Late Hav Ishar Singh but also to promote the importance of a fit and healthy lifestyle among the youth. With the alarming rise in drug abuse, the organizers believed that engaging in sports and physical activities is a powerful deterrent.
