POONCH: Beating fighting Chandak Volleyball Club in a closely contested 3-2 final, formidable side of Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club lifted the title trophy of the Open Volleyball Championship, which was organised by the Indian Army at Pritam Stadium, here today.
In the well contested and entertaining final, Manjit Club, sailing on match winning performance from technical sound duo of Ramiz Tariq and Mohd Hafeez made it a 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 25-27, 25-18, 15-11) win.
The Women’s title went to Stadium XI, who trounced Girls Higher Secondary School team. Earlier, eight teams took part in men section and four in women category.
The winners and runners-up teams presented with attractive prizes besides the glittering title trophies and individual prizes by the organisers.
This tournament was organised under the supervision of Nirdesh Kumar Sharma, Manager Sports Stadium Pooch.
