JAMMU: In a one-sided encounter at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai, J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) demonstrated a stellar performance, overpowering Mizoram by nine wickets in the Women's U-23 One-Day Trophy.
Put into bat first, Mizoram struggled to find their footing and were bundled out for a meager 71 runs in 36.4 overs. Zauli (21) and Jacinta (15) were the only notable contributors to the total.
Aditi Aryan emerged as the star bowler for J&K, claiming 4 crucial wickets for 22 runs in her seven overs. Kajal Bhagat complemented with an economical spell, conceding just seven runs in her 10 overs and taking three wickets.
Mariya Noorain, skipper Ananaya Sharma, and Arveen Riyaz also chipped in with one wicket each.
Chasing the modest target, Jammu and Kashmir showcased a splendid batting display, reaching 72 for the loss of only one wicket in just 14 overs.
Bawandeep Kaur played a magnificent unbeaten inning, scoring 43 runs off an equal number of balls, featuring seven boundaries. Lalita, the makeshift opening batter, contributed 10 runs, and Shambhavi Rajput added an unbeaten six runs to the total.
For Mizoram, Ruati managed to claim the lone wicket for her team. The comprehensive victory showcased the teamwork and prowess of the J&K women's cricket team. The team is being guided by Irshad Hassan as the Manager, Meenu Singh Slathia as Head Coach, Anuradha Sharma as Co-Manager, Summayah Jan as Bowling Coach, Sunny Kumar as Trainer, Mujtaba Wani as Video Analyst, and Bisma Gulzar as Physiotherapist.
Jammu and Kashmir's dominant performance in this encounter has certainly marked them as a force to be reckoned with in the ongoing Women's U-23 One-Day Trophy.
